Tammy V’s Music Picks – Emeli Sande, Giggs, J-Sol, Dora Martin, Knucks, Rachel Kerr, Izzy Bizu

tammy_musicI remember back in the day when artists weren’t so readily available, when there was excitement and a real lead up to what your fave artist would release next; nowadays artists are dropping albums and singles every other week just so as not to be forgotten. But I miss that build up, that need for new music to emerge on a late night with Jenny Francis or on ‘The Box’ fresh new music.

The artists I mention this week have taken their time, have given their audience something to talk about, Giggs is still dropping singles around the buzz of his new album, Dora Martin are back with fresh new music and Emeli Sandé has RETURNED!!!

Check out my music run down below:

Emeli Sandé has been gone for a minute but if her latest single is anything to go by then she has picked up where she left and much like Adele’s come back last year we can expect big things from the ‘Next to me’ singer (who if you didn’t know’s first name is Adele). Emeli’s debut album Our Version Of Events was released way back in 2012 and was the biggest selling album of that year so the anticipation for her coming release is very high. Check out the official video for Giggs’ track ‘Lock Doh’ featuring Donaeo, directed by Myles Whittingham. The single released on 26th of this month is taken from the new album ‘Landlord’ out now. Also check out the Tinie Tempah remix they are both fire!

RnB singer J-Sol recently dropped the video to his single ‘Changes’ taken from his Genesis EP which he released early last year. The song features London based female rapper Paigey Cakey showcasing her singing capabilities, Paigey has been heavy on the scene recently with new music and gigs around the country. The video referred to as a short film explores abuse and bullying in relationships, the actors are amazing.
You can download and stream the song via the links below:

Dora Martin have always been on my list as one of the best vocal groups out of the UK. Both individually and together Cherri Voncelle and Jermaine Riley exude what it is to be an RnB vocalist. So when I heard that they were releasing new music I was excited to see what they would bring to table this time round. ‘Another Life’ is the new highly anticipated single written by Dora Martin and produced by SOS (Sons of Sonix) the song is beautifully written with a lovely visual and concept video to match.

Up and coming rapper Knucks recently dropped his latest track Breakfast at Tiffany’s, the video was released through SBTV and the song is inspired by the iconic 1960’s movie of the same name which starred Audrey Hepburn. If you haven’t heard of this artist before, you really need to get to know; his style is unique and reminiscent of early 90’s ‘real’ HipHop. The artist from Northwest London produced the track himself and he did an amazing job with a bouncy drum pattern and chord progression, it is pure musicality. Check out the song below and also check him out on Soundcloud, you won’t be disappointed.

Gospel singing sensation Rachel Kerr has just released her first official music video from her her free 16 track mixtape entitled ‘Unboxed’. The award winning singer/songwriter penned an inspirational track over the instrumental of Drake’s smash hit ‘One Dance’ featuring WizKid and Kyla. Check out the video below:
