Duane Jones – also known by his DJ moniker Vis– has been working as a successful TV and Radio presenter since he was recruited by the BBC for the launch of its brand new radio station 1Xtra back in 2002.

As part of the much-loved duo Ace and Vis, the BRIT school graduate quickly became one of the station’s most prominent and popular presenters.

First hosting his SONY gold award winning day time show on the station as well as a weekly slot on Radio 1, Vis now boosts ratings on his extremely popular weekend slot and regularly deps for Trevor Nelson on his 1Xtra daytime show.

As a true music aficionado and a long time champion of the UK’s flourishing music scene, Duane is also frequently booked to DJ in clubs in Britain and around the world.

As one half of the Ace and Vis team, Duane’s DJing skills have taken him from Ministry of Sound in London to Mansion in Miami Beach, with stops in Croatia, Japan, Spain, Canada and Ibiza along the way.

Duane’s energetic and highly entertaining radio persona translates seamlessly onto television. He has hosted numerous programmes for MTV, from one hour specials such as the hilarious ‘Ace and Vis: Coming 2 Jamaica’, to MTV’s ‘Music Chart of the Decade’, as well interviews with the world’s biggest fashion, music, and film stars such as Jay Z, Will Smith, Victoria Beckham and Keira Knightley.

He has also brought his trademark humour to behind-the-scenes coverage of the MOBO Awards for BBC2.

An extensive knowledge of British music and a lifelong love of sport have made Duane a natural choice for professional opportunities that bridge the two cultures.

Duane has interviewed a range of high profile Premiership footballers for SKY TV and hosted numerous events for sportswear giant Nike, including Q&A’s with sports stars and artists such as Rio Ferdinand, Lebron James and Dizzee Rascal. He can also be found sharing his knowledge and opinions as a regular guest on BBC Radio 5 Live.

As comfortable mixing in the UK’s thriving music scene as he is interviewing some of the world’s most famous celebrities, Duane also finds time to design his own sportswear line, S.I.W. Clothing. The brand, which is currently stocked in JD Sports, and has been worn by everyone from US rapper Kanye West to UK star Example, is set to expand globally this year.

This summer saw Duane presenting for the BBC as part of their Olympic coverage, including hosting a special documentary “A Champion’s Playlist”.

As well as this he broadcasted for Radio 1and 1Xtra from their biggest ever live music event, Hackney Weekend 2012.

2012 is already shaping up to be a massive year for Duane Jones, and with his versatility and passion for presenting we will undoubtedly be seeing even more of him on our screens this year than ever before.
